One of my personal favorites is our Skinny Blend; it is the perfect combination of oolong, cinnamon, and ginger.

Why You Should Drink Oolong Tea?

Most if not all of the benefits of drinking oolong tea can be contributed to its extremely high antioxidant content. This is in part due to the level catechins -disease fighting flavonoids found within it. Oolong tea is thought to potentially aid in weight loss and in the prevention of some of our most serious diseases/illnesses found today including: cancer, graves (thyroid) disease, heart disease, and diabetes.

Oolong tea is a traditional tea most often consumed in China and Taiwan. One of the most striking differences with teas lies in the processing method. Where green tea and black teas are traditionally oxidized – oolong tea is partially fermented giving its striking appearance in color and taste.

Cinnamon Benefits and Your Health

As little as ¼- ½ tsp. of cinnamon a day is thought to positively affect one’s blood sugar levels, digestion, and improve one’s immune response. It has also been found that at even higher rates have of consumption cinnamon may aid in the prevention of many illnesses and diseases – including type 2 diabetes (1).

Cinnamon is a high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, disease/infection fighting, and delicious addition to our Thai Street Kitchen Skinny Blend.

Not only is cinnamon fabulous to ingest, but also cinnamon’s anti-microbial effects have been found to protect the skin from inflammation, swelling, and pain. A cinnamon essential oil blend with a carrier oil (I.E coconut oil) maybe applied to one’s skin to achieve such an affect.

The Many Benefits of Ginger Tea

Ginger tea has a long list of benefits including; reduced nausea, improved well being, aiding in the lowering of cholesterol, weight loss, and pain relief just to name a few. Freshly grated ginger steeped in hot water with a bit of raw honey is one of my personal favorite bedtime treats.

While, the use of ginger has been around for many centuries we are just now beginning to understand the many positive anti-inflammatory affects. Ginger has been found to possibly treat and prevent everything from arthritic symptoms’ to underlying funguses and disease causing bacteria. “Some studies have found that  can even effectively inhibit inflammation.” (2)

So, the next time you’re in the area – be sure to stop by and enjoy a cup of our skinny blend tea.

Support your body, feed your cells, reduce inflammation, bring a friend, and enjoy!
